How to do a Cell Phone Number Search
May 13, 2008
Unlike most landline phones, the numbers for cell phones are private. They’re unlisted. In the past, identifying a person calling from a cell phone was practically impossible. But, times have changed. Today, there’s an easy way to perform unlisted phone number searches. Whether you’re investigating a suspicious caller appearing on your spouse’s phone or tracking down an anonymous prankster who’s badgering you with annoying calls, here’s how to look up their cell phone number.
First, find a cell phone number lookup service that allows you to tap into their database of cell phone numbers. There are several reputable services online that are easy to use, inexpensive and can offer an exhaustive list of information about a cell phone’s owner and allow you to lookup by cell phone numbers, finding name, address and all sorts of information. Second, decide upon your goals. Most services offer you the opportunity to conduct a one-time search. Alternatively, you can conduct unlimited searches for a predefined time frame (usually one year). Lastly, once you’ve chosen the option that’s best-suited for your needs, login to the service’s database and conduct your search. To do so, you’ll need to type in the cell phone number, including the area code.
Most dependable cell phone number search services charge a small fee to access their directory. While free services exist, the breadth of the information from their database is typically limited. Few cell phone numbers are tracked and the amount of information offered for each is usually sparse. A good service should be able to provide the cell phone owner’s name, physical address (and address history), wireless provider and even the names of family members. Just be sure you use a reputable reverse cell phone directory like the ones I used to find out who my girlfriend was banging on the side.
If you merely need to identify one caller, most services will allow you to do so for a few dollars. The small fee usually starts at $14.95 (some services charge a bit more). If you’re looking for a powerful resource for cell phone number searches that you can tap into as many times as you wish, you can purchase unlimited access for a slightly larger fee. Identifying a cell phone caller (even one who wishes to remain private) is easier than you may think.
